Pipe Aston

A North Herefordshire Jewel

Our small village nestles in beautiful rural countryside in north Herefordshire, surrounded on three sides by Mortimer Forest, with open farmland to the western side.

HISTORY

The ancient settlement has two motte-and-baileys – one in good condition and one a ruin. The village church dates from Norman times, probably the 12th Century. In the 18th Century Aston built a rural industry of making clay pipes, from which the prefix “Pipe” came.
